brotherton–lock are a photographic duo specialising in high quality interior and architectural photography. With an extended knowledge of visual culture and the arts, they are strong communicators in the photographic and digital image service industry.

brotherton–lock was founded as a collaborative practice by Tim Brotherton and Katie Lock in 2006. 

Tim Brotherton studied film and photography at Derby University and Bournemouth College of Art and Design. In 2002 he received the first prize of the Photography Competition Architectural Association and the London Consortium.

Katie Lock studied at Chelsea College of Art and Design and University of Arts Berlin. She obtained a PhD at Leeds Metropolitan University. Lock has done extensive research on globalised visual cultures, that has been published in books, magazines and readers. Her PhD thesis New Wealth and the Visual Language of Luxury: An interdisciplinary study was published by Lampert Academic Publishing in 2012. Lock worked as a lecturer at Leeds Metropolitan University (2005–2016). Other teaching engagements include Chelsea College of Art and Design and Nottingham Trent University.
