Tim Brotherton and Katie Lock are a photographic duo specialising in high quality interior and architectural photography. Brotherton–Lock use their artistic and architectural backgrounds to expertly capture visuals that convey the unique experiences of the spaces and places they photograph. On site they work as a team using digital large format technologies and digital DSLRs. With an extended knowledge of visual culture and the arts, they are strong communicators regularly commissioned by architects, interior designers and publishers alike. Well known for their refined photographic style, Brotherton–Lock are open to commissions.

BACKGROUND
Brotherton–Lock was founded as a collaborative practice by Tim Brotherton and Katie Lock in 2006.
Tim Brotherton studied film and photography at Derby University and Bournemouth College of Art and Design. In 2002 he received the first prize of the Photography Competition Architectural Association and the London Consortium.
Katie Lock studied at Chelsea College of Art and Design and University of Arts Berlin. She obtained a PhD at Leeds Metropolitan University. Lock has done extensive research on globalised visual cultures, that has been published in books, magazines and readers. Her PhD thesis New Wealth and the Visual Language of Luxury: An interdisciplinary study was published by Lampert Academic Publishing in 2012. Lock worked as a lecturer at Leeds Metropolitan University (2004–2014) and holds a teaching position at Middlesex University since 2020.
